Verdant Church exists to glorify God by forming
mature disciples of Jesus who flourish in community
and carry the gospel into the world.
How it all started...
Verdant Church began when Pastor AJ began to have a growing conviction in 2024 that he was called to start a church with discipleship at its core. Over the next two years, God continued to stir in him a burden for people not just to attend church, but to be deeply rooted in Christ and actively investing in others. Through prayer, counsel, and confirmation from trusted leaders, it became clear this was not just an idea ... it was a calling. What started as quiet conversations and personal obedience began to take shape as a shared vision.
That vision was strengthened through the support of a sending church (Evergreen Church), close relationships, and a group of people who sensed God was doing something new. As clarity grew, so did the responsibility to step forward in faith. There were unknowns, risks, and sacrifices, but also a deep confidence in God’s leading. Verdant was not born out of dissatisfaction, but out of a desire to multiply what God has already been doing. From the beginning, the heart has been simple ... shepherd people so they can flourish in Christ wherever He plants them.

Where we are today ...
Today, Verdant Church is in an exciting season of building and preparation. God is forming His people, and even now, we are seeing lives impacted as relationships deepen and discipleship begins to take root.

Where God is taking us ...
We believe God is leading Verdant Church to be a place where people are deeply rooted in Christ, growing in authentic community, and sent out to make disciples. Our desire is not simply to gather crowds, but to cultivate a culture where spiritual maturity is normal and multiplication is expected. We envision a church that reflects the diversity of the city and reaches every generation. A church where people don’t just attend, but belong, grow, and go.
Looking ahead, we are trusting God to expand both our reach and our impact. We see future leaders being developed, families being strengthened, and the gospel advancing through everyday people living on mission. Our prayer is that Verdant would not just grow larger but grow deeper. As God brings the increase, we remain committed to staying faithful to the calling. Wherever He leads, we are ready to follow. We will be confident that He is the one who gives life and makes it flourish.
