MISSION & VISION

The Mission

Rooted with Christ
Growing with Others,
Reaching the World

Rooted with Christ
Spiritual life begins with deep roots in Jesus. We are grounded in the truth of Scripture, anchored in the gospel, and shaped by ongoing dependence on Christ. In a culture of shallow belief, we pursue a faith that is steady, mature, and formed from the inside out.

“I am the vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in me and I in him produces much fruit, because you can do nothing without me.”
John 15:5 CSB

Growing with Others
God grows His people in community. Through biblical fellowship and intentional discipleship, we encourage, challenge, and strengthen one another. As we gather around God’s Word and invest in meaningful relationships, we cultivate the kind of spiritual health that lasts.

“From him the whole body, fitted and knit together by every supporting ligament, promotes the growth of the body for building itself up in love by the proper working of each individual part.”
Ephesians 4:16 CSB

Reaching the World
Healthy roots and steady growth produce fruit. Every believer is sent into their areas of influence to live and share the gospel. As God causes us to flourish, we seek to multiply disciples, raise leaders, and extend Christ’s transforming power from our city and to the ends of the earth.

“Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few.”
Matthew 9:37 CSB

The Vision

To see people from every background and generation
deeply formed in Christ through community so they
flourish wherever God plants them.

Goal: 52 baptisms in 52 Sundays
We envision a church where people from every background and generation encounter the life-changing grace of Jesus Christ and are deeply formed in Him. In a world marked by confusion, isolation, and spiritual shallowness, Verdant Church will be a place where new life is found in the gospel and where believers grow deep roots in the truth of God’s Word. Through faithful teaching and dependence on prayer, we desire to see men, women, and children flourish as they follow Christ together.

We envision a church marked by joyful and reverent worship, where believers gather to pray, sing, and respond wholeheartedly to God. Our worship will be expressive yet grounded in Scripture and fueled by a deep love for Christ. As we worship, we long to see lives continually transformed so that faith is lived out daily and not just on Sundays.

Goal: 12 small groups in 12 months
We envision a rich and authentic community where people are known, loved, and encouraged through discipleship and small groups. Verdant Church will pursue relationships marked by hospitality, accountability, and shared life. Families will be strengthened, marriages nurtured, and parents equipped to disciple their children so that faith flourishes from generation to generation.

Goal: Send 20 missionaries within 5 years
We envision a culture of intentional discipleship where believers are equipped to follow Jesus and help others do the same. Through discipleship relationships and spiritual formation, we seek to raise up disciples marked by wisdom, conviction, and courage. As God develops leaders among us, we will invest in training future pastors, ministry leaders, and church planters who carry the gospel into new communities.

We envision serving the growing New Tulsa community by establishing a welcoming and life-giving presence as the area develops. In our early years, we will gather in a local school, creating an accessible place for connection, discipleship, and gospel proclamation. As the Lord provides a permanent home, we desire to create a space that serves the community throughout the week. A place where families gather, discipleship happens, and neighbors connect. Through environments like a coffee shop with an indoor play area, meeting spaces for discipleship, and places for prayer, we
aim to cultivate a peaceful and hospitable atmosphere that blesses New Tulsa and points people to Jesus.

Ultimately, we envision Verdant Church as a flourishing community of believers who are rooted deeply in Christ, growing together in love, and reaching outward with the gospel, so that the hope of Jesus transforms lives across our city and around the world.
